Welcome to my Web site!
I started playing piano when I was about 3-4. I took lessons
from age 9 until the end of college. I then played professionally in clubs
for about 5 years. When disco came in, I took a hiatus for about 13 years,
seldom playing at all. Then someone called me from a local restaurant
wanting me to fill in at their piano bar for a few weeks. I ended up playing
there on Friday and Saturday nights for 10 years. Then I left for about 5
1/2 years, until the new owners called me and said their waitresses and
other staff wanted them to get me back. So I went back about 2 1/2 years
ago.
I started recording midis about 1995 when I got hold of a
Yamaha Clavinova. At first I just recorded songs straight, but gradually I
learned how to use drum tracks, more instrument tracks, etc. Some of the
songs here I worked on for over a week, such as Roseanna and Beginnings.
When I first uploaded a few songs to a couple of local BBS's,
I never thought they would go very far. But a year or so later, after the
Internet started to take off, on a lark I did a search for myself and found
my files on a couple dozen sites. Soon I started getting emails from people
wanting to know if I had my own website. So, a couple of years later, I
finally put one up. It was up for several years and got thousands of hits
until last year when my ISP dropped off the face of the earth with no
notice. At the same time my hard drive crashed, and I lost a lot.
I am married, with one son, Joey, who is 12. I live in
Cincinnati, Ohio.
I finally realized that lots of sites still had my files
listed, but nobody could listen to them because they all pointed back to my
old site. So I decided to put up a new site the other day.
I hope you enjoy the music. If you have any problems with
any files, please let me know. Also, please sign my guestbook.
BTW, I am currently playing on Monday and Saturday nights at
6:00 at Sorrento's Italian Restaurant, on Reading Road in Reading, Ohio (a
suburb of Cincinnati). If you are in town, I'd love to see you!
Sincerely,
Bob Mace
